Personal / There is a place in the sun for everyone

How is it possible to manage your own feelings with more than one partner at the same time when, usually, it’s so hard to do it just with one? Couple is not simply a synonym for two people bonded to one another through emotional or nuptial ties. There are many possible meanings and Polyamory describes one of them.

Polyamory (from Greek poly, “many” or “several”, and Latin amor, “love”) is the act of having simultaneous close emotional and romantic relationships with two or more individuals with the knowledge and consent of all partners involved.

The picture of living in an open relationship is often related only to dirty-naughty sexual freedom, but there’s more to it than that.

There is honesty, communication, trust, consciousness, love.

To make it work, like every other kind of relationship, a non-monogamous one requires a deep work on self-analysis. It’s a dirt path where you have to face your limits and your weaknesses. Only then, when you know exactly where you are, you’re ready to open yourself to other partners. Love is in every kind of its expressions synonymous of freedom. This doesn’t mean that monogamy is either bad or useless, but simply that everyone has to have the right to develop a relationship structure that works for themselves. Because everyone has his own place in the sun.
